Air Travel Information for the UK

Since the creation of Laker Airways low fare "SkyShuttle back in 1977 the cost of Air Travel has continued to fall in real terms despite massive increases on fuel costs. The last few years has seen a massive influx of "No Frills" Low cost carriers competing head to head with the scheduled airlines for Major and Provincial destinations.
When seeking to Buy Air tickets the traveller now has three basic choices of airline booking type.
-
Buy a Scheduled Air Travel Ticket - This can sometimes be the only option, especially if you are travelling to a remote and distant location requiring connecting flights on different airlines. It can also often be cheaper than using a Budget Carrier for part of the journey and then having to buy a separate ticket for the domestic sector as many routes have through fares at similar levels to flying to a country's major hub
-
Go for a "No Frills" Budget Carrier - These airlines offer amazingly cheap airfares but do remember to allow for the taxes that are frequently more than the cost of the Fare! Do beware, however, that should your flight be cancelled or overbooked then they do not offer overnight hotels or try to arrange you a flight with another carrier! In addition they generally levy much heavier penalties for flight booking changes and excess baggage!
-
Holiday Charter Flights - Most holiday companies usually sell off surplus seats on their charter flights to popular holiday destinations. These can offer great savings and can be booked a long time in advance as well as at the last moment. Remember though that normally package holiday booking conditions apply and should the flight not be sold the company reserve to right to cancel the flight or change the dates!

Priority Pass provides airport VIP lounge access irrespective of who you are flying with, what class you are traveling in, or whether you belong to an airline lounge program.
Priority Pass is ideally suited to frequent business and leisure travellers - and at a time of increased airport delays, VIP lounge access is in high demand.
